Francisco Pages Truly A “Forever Bear” of St. Agnes Academy
Written by our Pastor, Fr. Juan Carlos Paguaga
Today, I would like to speak about a young man who most often speaks louder through his actions than through his words, someone who, since childhood, has served the Lord with a generous and joyful heart.
He has been an excellent example of stewardship, commitment, and discipline. We are speaking of Francisco Pages, a young man who continually strives for excellence in many areas of his life and who has learned to manage his time wisely: to study, to pray, to serve, to play sports, and simply to be himself.
Saint Carlo Acutis once said, “All people are born as originals, but many die as photocopies.” Francisco has never tried to imitate others. He has chosen to live authentically, rooted in faith, using his gifts to glorify God and to serve His Church.
One of his greatest treasures is not only his education, but also his good manners, his deep respect for others, and his beautiful ability to connect with people of all ages. In him, we see what it truly means to live with integrity, humility, and kindness.
He is truly a “Forever Bear” of St. Agnes Academy. Francisco entered St. Agnes in PK3 in 2011 and proudly graduated in 2022. From his earliest years, this parish and this school have been his spiritual home, where his faith, values, and spirit of service were lovingly nurtured and strengthened.
Today, he continues that journey at Immaculata–La Salle High School in Miami, where he is actively involved as a spiritual leader, participating in retreats that help bring others closer to Jesus. Through his witness, he reminds his peers that faith is not something we keep to ourselves, it is something we are called to joyfully share.
Behind Francisco’s beautiful witness stands a loving and faith-filled family. We are deeply grateful to his parents, Francisco and Maria Pages, for their dedication, sacrifices, and example. Through their love and guidance, they have helped form a young man of faith, character, and service.
Saint John Bosco, the great educator of youth, once said, “Do good while you still have time.” Francisco lives these words every day. He understands that serving is not about recognition, applause, or rewards. It is about love. It is about offering oneself quietly, faithfully, and joyfully for the good of others.
Saint Carlo Acutis also reminded us, “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” From Francisco’s love for Jesus in the Eucharist flows his desire to serve. His ministry is not a task; it is a grateful response to God’s love.
Serving in the Church is not about what we receive in return. It is about the joy of giving. It is about bringing light to others, hope to those who struggle, and encouragement to those who feel alone. True service is born from gratitude and sustained by love.
Francisco teaches us that when we serve with a pure heart, God multiplies our efforts. Through small, faithful acts, He touches many lives.
May his example inspire all of us, especially our young people, to discover that the greatest reward in life is not found in being served, but in serving.
As Jesus Himself taught us, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Francisco first served as an altar server here at St. Agnes on October 1st, 2016, a Sunday, a beautiful beginning to a journey of faithful service that continues to this day.
At just 17 years old, he earned his private pilot’s license and now flies single-engine airplanes, both independently and with others—an impressive achievement that reflects his discipline, responsibility, and dedication.
Francisco is also gifted in music. He plays the piano, saxophone, violin, and drums, using his talents to glorify God and bring joy to others. One of his favorite hobbies is playing golf as part of the La Salle team, where he continues to grow in teamwork and perseverance.
Throughout his academic life at St. Agnes and La Salle, Francisco has consistently been an honor roll student and a proud member of the National Honor Society, reflecting his commitment to excellence, integrity, and hard work.
We thank God for the gift of Francisco Pages. May the Lord continue to guide him, protect him, and use his life as a blessing for many.
Sincerely,
Fr. jc
