  • Joseph Aceñas

    Joseph Aceñas was born and raised in the Philippines in a Catholic family, and carried that faith along when he moved to Miami in 2016 after finishing college in Manila.

    For a while, his faith stayed quietly in the background of his life. That changed in July 2017, when he attended the EFFETA retreat at St. Agnes. That weekend opened his eyes to the beauty of our faith and to something he had always known but never truly understood: the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

    He realized that with Him, he already had everything. And from that realization came a deep desire to give back. It didn't happen all at once. Little by little, through countless hours in prayer, especially before the Blessed Sacrament in Eucharistic Adoration, he said yes to His call.

    Today, Joseph is in his third year of priestly formation at St. John Vianney College Seminary. EFFETA and St. Agnes will always hold a special place in his heart. This parish is where he came home to his faith, and he's grateful every day to walk this journey alongside this community.
