Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Blessings!

This Sunday begins Holy Week. These are the most sacred days of the entire year, the days in which we walk with Jesus through His Passion, His suffering, His death, and His Resurrection.

On Palm Sunday, we enter Jerusalem with Him.

We hold palms in our hands and proclaim, “Hosanna!” We rejoice. We welcome Him as King. And yet, only moments later, we listen to the Passion. We stand at the foot of the Cross. We hear the same voices cry out, “Crucify Him.”

This contrast is not only part of the Gospel, it is part of the human heart. How often do we move between faith and doubt, generosity and hesitation, closeness to the Lord and distance from Him?

Holy Week invites us to remain close. To remain with Jesus, not simply in moments of joy, but most importantly in moments of sacrifice, silence, and surrender. We are not spectators of these mysteries. We are invited to enter into them.

In the coming days, the Church will lead us:
to the table of the Last Supper,
to the Cross on Calvary,
and finally, to the joy of the Resurrection.

I encourage you, as your Pastor, to make space for the Lord this week. Come to the liturgies. Bring your family. Set aside distractions. Walk these days with intention, with the intention placed on the eternal.

Christ is not distant. He is near and He walks this path for us, and with us.

Dear family, let us begin this Holy Week with open hearts. Let us follow Him closely, let us remain at His feet, by His side. And let us allow His love, poured out on the Cross, to transform us entirely.

With prayer and gratitude,

Fr. jc
