Three Years of Grace

A Personal Reflection on the Third Anniversary of the Consecration of St. Agnes Church

My dear St. Agnes family,

Blessings!

Three years have passed since St. Agnes Church was dedicated and consecrated to God.

Still, each time I walk across the plaza, climb the steps, and look at the façade of our church, I feel as though I am living in a dream from which I have never awakened.

For me, this anniversary is not simply about a beautiful building. It is about a dream, sacrifice, and above all, an act of love.

I remember our former church with affection. For generations, it was a sacred place where sacraments were celebrated, families prayed, and memories were born. But our parish had grown, the building faced serious challenges, and God was inviting us to look toward the future with faith and courage.

At times, the dream of a new church seemed almost impossible. Yet today I can see God’s providence at every step.

Nearly 700 individuals and families contributed to this project. Some gave generously. Others gave what they could. Many offered time, talent, expertise, prayer, encouragement, and sacrifice.

I am especially grateful to all who believed this dream was possible. You trusted, encouraged us, and through your generosity helped transform a vision into the church we now call home.

From the depths of my heart: thank you.

From the beginning, our message was Building with Joy. We were never building only for ourselves. We were building to leave a legacy of faith for generations to come.

Three years later, what moves me most is the life growing within these walls. Our parish family continues to grow. More young people are coming to Mass and becoming involved. We are celebrating more weddings, Baptisms, Confirmations, and other sacraments. More families are discovering in St. Agnes a true spiritual home.

For me as your pastor, this is the greatest joy.

This is why we built St. Agnes Church.

Its greatest beauty is not marble, stained glass, or architecture. Its greatest beauty is found whenever someone encounters Jesus Christ here and can say, “I am home.”

The construction may be finished, but the building of the Church never is.

May we continue Building with Joy, leaving a legacy of faith for generations to come.
